A Purpose To Live By
Young people are experiencing a transition during which issues of personal identity, values and life direction are being explored. The Youth Centre promotes the healthy development of the whole person (physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual) in an effort to assist youth in building a stable foundation for life.
Living Off The Street
"My living space is a cell with a steel door. I made some decisions. Hung out with the wrong crowd. My parents have given up on me, I'm sorry for all the trouble."
The homeless young person could be spared the street and all its trappings, if he or she had the intervention of a caring, gentle adult. Someone who would believe the investment of love, attention and patience is worth it.
A Place To Hang Out
There are not many options for places to "hang out" and things to do. The Youth Centre provides a positive place and can serve as a valuable preventative to questionable life-style practices.
Hometown Youth
The next generation of homeless youth is in your hometown. In your schools and youth groups and drop-ins. In your churches and Sunday schools. They are in your nurseries. Life skills mean nothing to the teenager who is without hope.
People who care
Peers, as well as adult role models, are sought by youth in a desire to find people who will care about them. The Youth Centre provides an opportunity for young people to interact in a positive environment, as well as meet adult volunteers who are willing to offer a listening ear, encouragement, support and friendship.
