Project Serve - Mission Trips

Project Serve is the short-term mission trip ministry of Youth For Christ. Trips provide challenging cross-cultural service experiences that shape character and broaden perspectives. Destinations can be Canadian or somewhere in the third world and may involve constuction, assisting in a medical clinic, helping a local church, running Vacation Bible shools for children, music, drama and crafts.

Skills required range from little to leadership, technical, musical or dramatic. Trips may last from a week to a few weeks. They are primarily designed for high school students, but there are many opportunities for adults to be involved.

Project Serve can help churches and youth groups design, train and implement trips that are geared to your specific needs. Just give us a call!

Unlike the sterotypes of being "selfish" abd "self-centred", many teens really want to make a difference. Location and type of project can vary but there are four things you can count on with any Project Serve trip:
  • We go to serve! Project Serve addreses real needs, both physical and spiritual, in the host location.
  • Our teens are led by youth ministry professionals with a passion for, and experience in, both youth ministry and cross cultural missions. The success of a mission trip is determined by the spirit, knowledge, experience and committment of the team leader.
  • We work hard to ensure that the work and ministry accomplished by Project Serve teams is strategic in developing the local ministry. To facilitate the growth of our team members we provide:
    • Individual and group pre-field preparation materials
    • Team meetings and small group sessions during the mission to help participants process their experiences and nurture spiritual growth
    • Personal Bible study materials to use during the trip
    • Post-field debriefing so that trips become 'transformational' and not just experiential
  • We provide time-proven materials, training and system support to help individuals and groups raise the necessary funds for their mission experience.
